A Press Release Success Story

The problem.  A leading executive compensation consulting firm had been producing well researched, in-depth studies of trends in executive compensation for some time. Written by the firm’s consultants, the reports were always thorough and substantive but could be a challenge to read for nonexperts, including reporters. As a result, the reports tended to garner relatively little attention outside of specialized trade publications. The firm asked Porro Associates for help getting more press on one of key reports.

The solution.  Working with M+R Strategic Services, a communications firm, Porro Associates identified the parts of the report we thought would appeal to financial reporters. We put together a press release focusing on the key points. M+R developed a pitch strategy to get maximum exposure for the report.

The result.  A major story in the Wall St. Journal, a first for the client.
